The church has produced amazing examples of love and inclusion. This month, Don Fletcher will share with us some his experiences reaching out to LGBT members, both in his tenure as bishop of the Bay Ward, and beyond. Join us in thinking about what we can do in our own wards and stakes to make the church look more like God's inclusive family.
Don Fletcher has traveled the world serving patients with permanent vision impairments. His international volunteer work has directly led to the establishment of model low vision rehabilitation programs in Harare Zimbabwe, Sao Paulo Brazil, Manila Philippines and Guangzhou China. In his professional life he has had to fight an entrenched system which did not meet the needs of the masses and has not avoided the criticisms inherent in trying to deliver services in a new/better way.
He has been the bishop of three wards and a member of the San Francisco Stake Presidency. His biggest passion is letting LDS members that are gay know that they are part of God’s family and are loved by Him.
