Update: You can watch the video of Alyson & George speaking at the Hearth here:
On March 26, we will be blessed to welcome Alyson Paul and George Deussen as our Hearth speakers. Their remarks will be themed, “I Choose Love: Learning to Love Without Boundaries and Living with Loss.”
Alyson and George have been involved with the LGBT community since 2012 when their son Stockton came out at the age of 13. By Stockton’s side, they have both been strong advocates and allies of the LGBT community, involved with Mormons Building Bridges, Mama Dragons, I’ll Walk With You, Equality Utah and Affirmation. When Stockton died by suicide in 2016, their deep sense of loss reinforced an already whole-hearted commitment to love without holding back.
Alyson and George and three of their kids live in Bountiful, UT, and enjoy doing humanitarian work, snow skiing, water skiing, soccer and various other activities. George is an entrepreneur and is presently a partner in Muscle Wall, and also works as a consultant and executive coach. Alyson recently joined the board of Youth Futures homeless youth shelter in Ogden, UT, where she is the treasurer and assists with fundraising. Alyson is also involved with Operation Safety Net, a new initiative aimed at preventing suicides among LGBT youth in Utah.
